IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN ADOPTING . . . PLEASE READ THIS IN ITS ENTIRETY:

We do not conduct same-day meet-and greet adoptions without a previously approved Adoption Application. If you are interested in adopting, we ask that (1) you read this Adoption Process in its entirety and then (2) complete our online Adoption Application. Please note that our cats available for adoption stay on our adoption websites as available unless and until their adoption officially takes place.

***THIS IS IMPORTANT***

Please read the biography regarding the cat that you are interested in adopting so you will have information regarding their personality and any requirements they may have.

Also note that we have a Companion Cat Policy: Unless otherwise indicated, all cats under the age of one [1] year old must go into a home with another cat/kitten (https://www.fundamentallyfeline.com/two-are-better-than-one/) - dogs do not count! Obviously, some young adults not raised around other cats or with more independent personalities may be exceptions to those rules, but that is up to the discretion of the Rescue to assess that need and is not negotiable. Discounts are offered if you adopt two cats from Fancy Feline Rescue at the same time.

Once you submit the Application, the process usually takes about two weeks or so - depending on the number of applications received for our cats; however, if you do not provide us with complete, verifiable information on the Application, the process can take longer. Please make sure that all information is complete, especially regarding vet information for all previous and current pets, and that you contact the vet offices you have used previously and currently use for your pets to give them authorization to release any information on your pets to our Adoption Counselor. Please note that by completing the Application, it in no way obligates either you or Fancy Feline Rescue of the South. It will, however, give us a chance to do a bit of “homework.” When we begin processing the Application, our Adoption Counselor will contact you either by email or phone, so please keep an eye on your spam email folder in case an email from her happens to end up in your spam folder! If we do not receive a response from you within 7-10 days regarding any questions we may have concerning your Application, we will file it away as “no response,” and move forward with the next Application. Also please note that (1) we consider Applications on a best home, first come, first served basis as we want to make sure the home is the best fit for both the cat and the family; (2) we do keep a "wait list" for previously approved applicants; and (3) we do require in-person adoptions by the approved applicant. Our preferred methods of payment are (1) cash, (2) check, and (3) we can accept debit/credit cards payment.

Unfortunately, we do not have a public facility. We do, however, set appointments to conduct adoptions for those who have Applications that have been approved by our Adoption Committee.

* 30-day refund/exchange policy if the Fancy Feline you adopt is not a proper fit with your family, and
